Nova Scotia Wild Blueberry Institute
Field Station

The Institute's Field Station, owned by the Nova Scotia Agricultural College is located in the Debert Air Industrial Park and provides sites for plot research and demonstrations. This area was initially covered with tree growth, but showed scattered blueberry plants under the tree cover. Some land was cleared in 1981 and the first crop of wild blueberries was harvested in 1983. Since then, additional land has been developed.

Buildings on site include an office, a machinery and equipment facility, a work shop and a model pesticide storage unit.

A plot plan for the property is on display to provide the location of all research and demonstration projects.
