Actually I've never heard anyone say California nor Australia. I know people in the States who think New Jersey but that's only reflects what they're used to. Cumberland County in Nova Scotia is widely hailed as the Blueberry capital of the world.

Where I live, here in St. Pierre, we have great blueberries, but true blueberry heaven is just across the strait in Newfoundland's Burin Peninsula. The blueberry bogs stretch out as far as the eye can see. You run your hand through a bush and you've got a handful of large plump fruit with all the flavour concentration of true wild blueberries.
