In 2005 Water Polo Canada made it a priority to develop the
sport of water polo in the Maritimes. The Provincial Water
Polo Association (PWPA) was created in late 2006, and its prime
mission is to promote the sport of water polo here in Nova
Scotia.
Most of the development has occured in HRM, although groups like the AC team
are showing up across the province. The number of players in the sport in Nova
Scotia tripled in the last year. The
hope is
to
reach
the
200
player
mark by the end of the 2009-2010.
