The purposes of this symposium and forum are to:

• Bring together some of the leading scholars and practitioners of watershed management from across Atlantic Canada for the first, in what is hoped to be, of a series of ongoing annual meetings
• Provide an opportunity for invited regional participants to share ideas at a forum directed to:
  1. planning inter-organizational networks for acquiring strategic funding for future workshops
  2. developing collaborative research partnerships with industry
  3. establishing a framework for enabling graduate students to present their research
