Performing animal nursing procedures and treatments
Administering medications, vaccines and other drugs
Preparing for, assisting with and monitoring general anaesthesia
Preparing for and assisting with surgery
Performing dental procedures and counseling clients on dentistry
Taking radiographs (X-ray pictures) and processing the films
Performing laboratory tests required to assist with diagnosis
Counseling and otherwise dealing with the client in veterinary practice
This is a brief list which simply summarizes the type of skills that the VT graduate needs in order to work in veterinary practices in Canada and in the United States
