— Precedents, Practices, Prospects —
September 24th & 25th, 2010
Truro and Halifax, Nova Scotia
The purposes of the present symposium and discussion forum are to:

Provide an opportunity for participants from municipal and provincial governments, citizen organizations, farmers’ markets, NGOs, and universities to share ideas and interact with the guest scholars during breakout sessions
This event combines a day-long symposium at the NSAC campus in Truro at which leading, international authorities will give detailed presentations. These will set the stage for breakout discussions and a possible charrette the following day in Halifax during which time participants will have an opportunity to interact closely with the visiting experts and to obtain advice on their own particular initiatives (attendees are encouraged to bring plans and questions from their own projects in which to share and discuss with the speakers). In addition, a series of short lectures by the visiting experts will be presented for the public in Halifax the second day.
