Welcome to our NSERC Rep Information Center at NSAC
As
an NSERC Rep on campus and in the community, I play a vital
role in bringing NSERC's achievements to public attention. I
provide a visible local NSERC presence, stimulate communication
between the Agency and the community it serves, and actively
support NSERC in its mandate to promote discoveries, innovation
and the development of new Canadian scientists and engineers.
Our current NSERC Rep, Dr.

NSERC Rep Activities - 2007
NSERC Science Journalism Intern
The NSERC Science Journalism Intern is responsible
for generating 10 articles on NSERC sponsored research projects,
including faculty, graduate and undergraduate research. The
goals of this initiative are to highlight NSERC-sponsored research
initiatives, discoveries and technologies, to promote science
and engineering to the community, and to provide an NSAC student
with an opportunity to develop skills in scientific journalism.
The NSERC Science Journalism Intern for 2007
is Mr. Mason MacDonald. Mason is an NSACgraduate who recently
defended his M.Sc thesis titled “The physiological
mechanisms of certain natural and synthetic antioxidant-induced
drought tolerance in tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.)
seedlings” on December 15, 2006. Watch for future
stories!
