The Life Changers
The Life Changers is a six-episode documentary series airing
Sunday afternoons at 12:30 p.m. on ASN and produced by the Association
of Atlantic Universities (AAU) in co-operation with participating
universities.
One of the six episodes, "The New Green Acres," explored
research in bio- environmental engineering at NSAC. Canada Research
Chair Dr. Rob Gordon shared ways to make the family farm a more
environmentally friendly enterprise, particularly in the area
of effective eco-management of farm animal waste.
The Life Changers is comprised of half hour programs featuring
path-breaking research and development (R&D) activities
underway at Atlantic Canada’s universities that are having
a positive, meaningful impact on lives and communities in the
region and around the world. The Life Changers will bring these
stories to life by featuring the institutions, their research
teams (particularly students) and most importantly, those directly
affected.
“If feedback is good, work could soon begin on another
suite of episodes – there are certainly more than enough
stories worth telling,” says Peter Halpin, executive director
of the AAU.
