Prospective Student Orientation 2010/11
This year, our team is working with the staff and faculty of NSAC to give you the best experience possible! As we are visiting High Schools throughout the Maritime Provinces during September, October and November, we are also planning several events on campus to make sure you have all the information you need to make the best decision for your university years.
November and December - Department Open House Days - During these days, each faculty will open its doors to you and your family and supporters so that you can become familiar with the staff, facilities and programs. You will also be invited to a general campus tour and refreshments. When we are in your school, we will give you an invitation to the Open House that you are most interested in attending. You can come as many times as you like to help decide which program is best for you. To make sure you are well taken care of, we will need you to RSVP. Your invitation will have all of the information you will need.
February - Come and be a Student-for-a-Day!
After you've come to investigate programs of interest, we will begin inviting students who are interested in meeting with program Advisors, Registry, Scholarship and Awards to stay a day on campus with one of our Student Ambassadors, attend classes and enjoy a meal in our dining facility. You will also be given the opportunity to apply to your program of choice and visit with Student Services, Health Services, Library, IT, Athletics and check out Residence. If you would like to meet with one of our coaches, we can certainly make that happen for you.
March, April, May, June - Once your application is in, our Scholarship Committee will begin working on what we can offer to students who meet Entrance Scholarship requirements and those who are applying to individual awards. Once you are accepted, we will invite you back to campus to give you a customized orientation to Registering for classes, Financial Service, Tutoring/Disability Services, coordinate a meeting with your Program Advisor and will provide you with the most current list of off campus housing if you wish. If you are from out of town, we will also provide you with a "getting to know Truro" package - from a student's perspective.
July, August - Campus looks amazing all of the time, but we are especially proud of how beautiful it is during the summer months. In July, we will send you an invitation to Open House, so you can come and share NSAC with your family and friends! This is a great day of fun, tours, activities and food! In August, we invite you to call or drop in to make any last minute arrangements and see your Residence Room if it is available. You'll have received your Orientation Package and New Student Package by now, so all you will have to do is get ready to come to NSAC!
September - Orientation 2011 and your life at NSAC begins! Congratulations!
