Career Opportunities
A variety of career opportunities exist within agricultural,
environmental and other biological resource industries and organizations.
Graduates are employed with Agri-Food companies, or with primary
Agricultural Enterprises in marketing or management roles. Financial
institutions employ graduates for inspecting and regulating
contract work, and for management of agricultural accounts.
Machinery manufacturers and dealers employ graduates as sales
or service representatives. Land improvement contractors employ
Integrated Environmental Management graduates for planning
and installation of irrigation and drainage systems as well
as erosion control structures. Government agencies, educational
institutions and pubic and private research stations employ
Integrated Environmental Management graduates in extension
work, teaching, testing, and research. On large mechanized farms,
opportunities exist for management and supervision of mechanized
systems involving computers, communications, machinery, buildings,
services, and power.
Integrated Environmental Management graduates can also work
as consultants for government or private agencies regarding
agricultural and environmental policies and programs.
In addition, the courses taken by Integrated Environmental Management students will better equip them to manage businesses
of their own, or to continue their education in graduate training,
education, and engineering.
