Program Overview
Management of technology - protection of the environment - how
technology affects land, water and buildings. If you’d
like to know more about how you can manage the effects of modern
agriculture and technology on the environment, check out theIntegrated Environmental Management program. This program was
developed in response to growing challenges to develop sustainable
food and fibre production for the new environmentally conscious
millennium. Not only do you learn about real world problems,
you work to solve them! In hands-on labs and experiments, your
access to facilities and professors is exceptional, providing
you with a strong science and agriculture background for your
career or future study.
Course Work
Your first year is spent studying foundation sciences like Chemistry,
Biology, Calculus, and Agriculture. Second and third year studies
introduce you to technologies associated with biological and
environmental systems applied to land, water, buildings and
machinery. During the fourth year, you apply acquired knowledge
and experience to problems facing the industry. Some of the
program-specific courses you will take include:
- Systems Analysis
- Properties of Mechanics of Materials
- Food Processing Systems
- Environmental Impacts and Resource Management
- Structures and their Environment
- Soil and Water
- Engineering Measurements and Controls
- Water and Water quality Management Systems
- Management of Mechanized Agricultural Systems
Plus, numerous electives grant you the opportunity to take
courses in your area of interest. It’s your degree, make
it want you want it to be!
