| Dr. Wang-Pruski is a molecular biologist by
training and her expertise has extended to physiology, biochemistry
and genomics. She is leading the Potato Molecular Biology
and Genomics Laboratory at NSAC, studying gene-environmental
interactions using potato as a model plant. The laboratory
has build strong reputation on potato research in the region.
In addition to numerous publications, two patents have been
filed (one in previsional stage) based on Wang-Pruski’s
work in the past three years. |

Project Collaborator: Steven Dukeshire, Ph.D

| Dr. Dukeshire’s educational background
is in both business and human behaviour. He has considerable
training and experience in quantitative and qualitative
methodologies and has conducted health behaviour research
at national, provincial, and local levels. He joined the
Business and Social Sciences Department of the Nova Scotia
Agricultural College as a faculty member in December, 2005
and has actively begun a research program examining factors
that influence dietary decision making and subsequent behavior.

| Mark has a B.Sc. in Plant Science, an Advanced
Graduate Diploma in Management and a Masters in Business
Administration (Agric.). He has six years experience in
Market Development and Research and has led multiple industry
partnership projects including Potato Branding, Agriculture
Awareness, and Consumer Food Purchasing Behaviour Research.
Mark has made 7 Peer Reviewed publications and other non-reviewed
publications. |

Project Coordinator: Scott Veitch, B.Sc. Agr, M.Sc
Research Assistant, Plant Science

| Scott has a B.Sc. Agriculture majoring in
Plant Science with a minor in Environmental Sciences. He
has specialized in both the Horticulture and Agronomy fields.
He has also completed his M.Sc. majoring in Agriculture
with a specialization in Agronomy. Scott has worked in both
the horticulture and agronomy fields for the last 15 years
and has written several peer reviewed publications and other
non-reviewed articles. Scott also runs a home based business
involving cut flowers and small fruit production. |

Data Analyst: Christian Rangel, M.A.

| Cristian Rangel has a five years honours degree
in Business Administration and Marketing, and recently finished
a MA in International Development Studies. Originally from
Colombia his previous work experience was in Marketing and
PR. Mr. Rangel’s area of expertise is qualitative
analysis, and media and discourse analysis, which has lead
Mr. Rangel to be invited to present his current research
findings at several social sciences conferences at the national
and international level. He is currently a member of the
Rural Research Centre of the Nova Scotia Agricultural College. |
