Pre-Veterinary Program
The Nova Scotia Agricultural College offers a two-year course
of study which will prepare you to apply to a Doctor of Veterinary
Medicine program. Students from NS, NB, PE, or NF will normally
apply to the Atlantic Veterinary College at the University of
Prince Edward Island.

Ours is a pre-vet science program with emphasis on animals
used by people, the only pre-vet program where you study the
animal industries of Atlantic Canada. Our size, our facilities,
our orientation, work to give you the best pre-vet training
in the country. We can say that because at NSAC, pre-vet rules!
An active Animal Science & Pre-Vet
Club helps you get the
kind of experiences that are important to your career. The
Club organizes events and trips to improve your knowledge
of animals and of veterinary science, for example, trips
to the Atlantic Veterinary College and hands-on work sessions
at the NSAC farm to help care for cows, sheep, poultry and
ranch mink. No other east coast university can match that
experience! The Pre-Vet club site is now online. Check
it out!
If, after two years, you decide to continue working towards
your NSAC/Dalhousie University degree, you will be able to blend
smoothly into a B.Sc. program majoring in Animal Science or
in Aquaculture.
