NSAC Governance Transition Project Update
An open session with Co-Presidents Dr. Leslie MacLaren and I will be held Friday, Jan. 14th at 11 a.m. in the Alumni Boardroom, Cumming Hall. The session will cover a range of topics which will include updating campus on such issues as our governance transition and our strategic planning process. If you have specific questions or concerns you would like to hear addressed, please forward them in advance to Theresa Blois at tblois@nsac.ca
As well, the NSAC Governance Transition Project team recently developed a series of frequently asked questions to help address any concerns you may have with the transition process. Below is one example. The remainder can be found on the governance website at nsac.ca/governance.
What will the governance structure at NSAC eventually look like?
NSAC will be overseen by a Board of Governors that will report to the Minister of Agriculture. The Board will hire a president who will oversee the management and administrative processes, rules and structures of NSAC.
Other elements of the structure are under development. NSAC will look more like other post-secondary education institutions, with the flexibility necessary to adapt to changing needs of students as well as the bio-resource and agri-food sectors.
Any questions or concerns may be directed to transition@nsac.ca
Sincerely,
Bernie MacDonald,
Co-President, VP Administration
Executive Sponsor, NSAC Transition
