Change in date for AGRI1000 Agri-business Tour.
The date of the Mandatory Agri-business tour for all students in AGRI1000 Agricultural Ecosystems has had to be changed from the date published in the calendar (Sept 14) to the next week (Sept 21). We ask that all faculty and teaching staff take note of this change. For some students, this full afternoon field trip (1:00-6:00) conflicts with other classes and the date is always published in the calendar in order to give other faculty "fair warning". This is so that they know those students affected should be given permission to attend without penalty. We apologize for this change in date.
Thank you for your understanding and help.

Dairy Building Changes and Open House
This summer has brought some changes to the Dairy Building that will help us serve our students better. With the addition of International Student Coordinator Mark Mason to the Student Engagement Team, we decided it was a great opportunity to move things around. To make room for a more comprehensive “Student Services Centre,” Keltie and Leanne moved their offices to the basement of the Dairy Building, where Career Services has been. The space outside their new offices will be used for the Math and Physics Tutoring Centre and other group tutoring. On the main floor, Mark is now in the office that was Keltie’s, and Roseanne Chapman, Career Services, is now in Leanne’s former office.
Thus we have Special Cohort support (Heather Avery), financial aid and new student advising (Ashley Shepard), career services (Roseanne Chapman), and international student support (Mark Mason) all in one place, with Health Services just around the corner. We also created a space for the Gallivan student insurance rep (Kahleigh Brinkhurst), and Sharon Oakley will continue to make student IDs in this office. To create a welcoming environment for students and improve collaboration among all the staff in the Student Services Centre, we removed a wall and improved the lobby, giving us a whole new look!
This work has been going on all summer (special thanks to TIR for getting everything done quickly and to the Maintenance staff who have been so helpful with all the moving about), and now we are ready to show it off. Please join us for an Open House on Wednesday, August 24th, from 1:30 to 3:30 so that you can see the “new” space and learn more about all the services we can offer our students. Light refreshments will be served. If you can’t make it on the 24th, please stop by sometime to see our improvements and visit with our staff.
