Graduate Research Days 2011
Graduate Research Days were recently held on April 18/19th, 2011. Thirty five of NSAC's graduate students participated in the two-day program that featured both poster and oral presentations. The event was a success with great attendance from fellow students, staff, faculty and the general public. The event was sponsored by NSAC Administration and NSAC Association of Graduate Students.
The Research and Graduate Studies Office would like to extend sincere congratulations to Laura Boudreau, Department of Plant and Animal Sciences, who was the winner of the Best Poster Presentation and Gina Stewart, Department of Plant and Animal Sciences, who was the winner of the Best Oral Presentation. Each student received a $100 cash prize.

Sanofi-adentis Bio-talent(SABC) Challenge
Marli MacNeil, CEO of BioNova, was the provincial host of the SABC and was inspired by the 13 entries in this year's competition.
“BioNova is involved in this program to encourage young Nova Scotians to further their education in the sciences and to be the next generation of life sciences innovators,” MacNeil said. “I am humbled by the talent and perseverance these students have displayed. Innovation is alive and well in our high school science programs.”
Of the 13 projects judged, 11 were from South Colchester Academy. Of those 11, nine had been mentored by faculty and staff of NSAC.
Congratulations and thanks to all NSAC staff who helped these students. It is an important element of NSAC's recruitment and outreach program to support these high achieving science students. Great job.
