University Day General Meeting
This year Recruitment is hosting a general meeting to discuss the initial plans for University Day 2010. As always, we are eager to get the ball rolling and are happy to invite our staff, faculty and supporters to our general meeting. If you are interested in attending, please e-mail Monica Sani (msani@nsac.ca) for details and an agenda.
The Recruitment Committee will also have a meeting to discuss University Day and other off-campus events. If you would like to join the committee, please e-mail Monica so she can add you to her list.
Career Focus Program
The Career Focus Program aims to create employment opportunities for recent graduates in agriculture, agri-food, agri-food science and veterinary medicine.

Network Outages
There are two network outages planned for this weekend:
1) This outage, being outside the normal outage window, was pre-approved by NSAC IT Advisory Committee.
Date: Saturday, Jan.16
Time: noon - 11:59 p.m. (Outage may overrun into Sunday morning if problems occur)
Location: NSAC campus & AgriTECH Park
*** The outage will not likely exceed the planned 12 hours in duration but additional time has been set aside as emergency recovery.
Full Description: A complete Novell GroupWise e-mail system outage will occur during the upcoming maintenance window.
Novell GroupWise e-mail services should be considered unavailable during the above time frame on the primary NSAC campus and at AgriTECH Park, which includes:
- Any incoming and outgoing e-mail to the NSAC GroupWise e-mail system
- GroupWise Web Access (GWACC)
- E-mail-for-Life Post Office
- Student Post Office
- Staff Post Office
2) Date: Sunday, Jan.17
Time: 8 a.m. - noon
Location: AgriTECH Park
Full Description: The wireless tower-to-tower network between NSAC campus and AgriTECH Park will be offline during the upcoming maintenance window.
All network services at AgriTECH, during this time-frame, should be considered unavailable. Such services include:
- Internet/intranet
- Student information system access (Registry)
- GroupWise and web based NSAC e-mail (staff, student, EFL)
- Network printing services
- Network file server access

Nova Scotia Institute of Agrologists Award Scholarships at NSAC
NSAC is pleased to have NSIA support NSAC students by providing two scholarships. Michael Kittilsen, Chair of NSIA’s Scholarship Committee, attended NSAC’s Scholarship Banquet and is shown congratulating the 2009 recipients of two NSIA scholarships – Nicole Lefebvre, Truro, NS, a third year B.Sc.(Agr.) Plant Science student; receiving the $1,000 NSIA Scholarship; and Megan Robertson, Pictou, NS, a fourth year B.Sc.(Agr.) Animal Science student, recipient of the $1,000 NSIA Anniversary Scholarship.
