Farewell
Karen Stratton
The Department of Environmental Science invites you to a reception for Karen Stratton, who will retire at the end of June. This celebration will be held in Room 220 of the Cox Institute on Thursday, July 9, 2009 from 2:30 - 4:30 p.m.
Karen graduated from our Biology Laboratory Technology Program in 1975 and was awarded the Governor General’s Medal for her academic achievements. While she was a student she assisted with blueberry research during the summers and upon graduation was hired at NSAC as a casual employee to assist with lab classes in the Departments of Biology and Plant Science. She was hired on a permanent basis as a Department of Biology technician in 1976. Since then Karen has provided laboratory assistance in over 25 different biology and environmental sciences courses, in addition to providing support to various researchers and graduate students. If you wish to make a donation towards a retirement gift for Karen, please drop off your donation either to Gisele Mazerolle (Cox Institute) or Charlotte Sullivan (Cox Room 118).
Please join us in wishing Karen all the best on her new endeavor.
