Staff and Alumni Ice Cream Social
Take a break from your work on a summer afternoon and stroll over to the Rock Garden for a cool and tasty ice cream cone!
The Development and External Relations office will be serving up the refreshing treat as a break for NSAC staff and alumni to enjoy.

Frozen turkeys will be for sale Thursday, August 27, 2009.

Notice to MacRae Library Users
Due to staff vacations there will be a delay in interlibrary loan services at the MacRae library from August 1st to 9th, 2009. ILL forms will continue to be available, but requests submitted during this time will not be processed until August 10, 2009. Novanet Express requests that are submitted through the library’s catalogue will continue to be processed during this time. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Community Garden Potluck
The NSAC Community Garden is having a potluck on August 7th, at 4:30p.m. at the garden (located behind the library).

Eco-Industrial Symposium 2009
Eco-Industrial Symposium 2009- Developing in Harmony. This symposium aims to educate and assist businesses, communities and government officials in planning and developing co-operatively for the future. This conference features a keynote presentation by Ray Cote on eco-industrial networks and parks and eco-efficiency followed by panel presentations including:
• Eco-industrial development
• Renewable energy options
• Green building design and operations
Sarah Morris, our marketing manager, will be a member of this panel discussing the sustainability opportunities around document management and presenting the NSAC case study on how a few small changes in our fleet of business machines has created substantial financial savings and reduced our carbon footprint as an organization.

Ron Young
Friday will be the last day for donations for Ron Young. Ron, a recent graduate of the Masters Program and employee of Plant and Animal Sciences, was involved in a serious fire accident on July 10th. He received second and third degree burns to 40 per cent of his body. He is commencing recovery at the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre. Donations for Ron will be warmly accepted at the following locations:
