Drive Away Hunger Details
NSAC, lead by Students' Union, is in the middle of the Drive
Away Hunger campaign in support of Feed Nova Scotia. Donation
boxes are placed around campus for donation drop-offs. Monetary
donations are also accepted.
This is both a House Challenge and a student vs.
staff challenge.
Final weigh-in: Tuesday, Oct. 14

This is a community event stop,
so community members are
invited
make donations
and join in the party. Chartwells
is having a BBQ with all proceeds going back into our campaign.
Cheques can be made out to Feed Nova Scotia or, if you would
like your donation to go to a specific food bank, you can make
the
cheque out to them. Please Post date cheques to Oct. 16.

Dr. Raj Lada Receives International Appointment
Dr. Raj Lada has received the prestigious appointment as Advisor
to the Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia. He will work to restructure
and revitalize the university educational system in Cambodia
at
the national level. He will be in partnership with
Rectors and Vice Rectors throughout the country to implement
this directive. Dr. Lada is the project director of the Agri-Education
for Extension Project in Cambodia and has held this position
since its inception with NSAC’s partner institute, the
Royal University of Agriculture. He has travelled
to Cambodia on various occasions to implement project activities.
In particular, training for
instructors and students. During this period of time, he has
developed a rapport with the administration of RUA as well
as various government officials.
Congratulations Dr. Lada on
the appointment.
Accessing E-Journals and Databases
from Off-campus
The MacRae Library Electronic Resources (MLER) can be accessed
off- campus for all registered NSAC students, staff and
faculty with a valid network username and password. These resources
must be accessed via the MacRae Library website found at nsac.ca/library/ and by going to MLER. Simply enter your NSAC network username
and
password for full access to our e-resources.
If you do not have a valid NSAC network username and password,
contact the ACS Helpdesk at ext. 6154.
New EconLit Trial Database at MacRae Library
MacRae Library has recently subscribed, on a trial basis,
to EconLit database. EconLit is the American Economic Association’s
electronic database and is the world’s foremost source
of references to economic literature. The database contains
more than 1,010,900 records from 1969-present. EconLit covers
virtually every area related to economics.
EconLit is listed on the library's MLER database page and
can be accessed through the EconLit link or EBSCOhost Web.
The trial for EconLit expires on Nov. 15, 2008. Please
send any comments, feedback or suggestions regarding this
database to Erin MacPherson, reference assistant, at emacpherson@nsac.ca or by phone at 893-3296.
NSAC Student's Art Work Featured in Hometown Gallery
Although she's in her second year of the Pre-vet program
here at NSAC, Stacey McIntyre hasn't lost her love for
art. From Sept. 3-30, Stacey's artwork was featured in
Miramichi's école Carrefour Beausoleil. Below are
just a few showcases of her talent. Times and Transcript
