Chartwells Set to Host Two Events This Week
Chartwells is hosting two special events this week. "World
in Harmony" on Tuesday,
Sept. 30 from 4
p.m. - 7:30 p.m. and Oktoberfest on Thursday, Oct.
2 from 4 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Both events will be held in
Jenkins Hall.
Official Launch of Post-Harvest Management to Improve
Livelihoods Project
The official launch of the Post-Harvest Management to
Improve Livelihoods Project was held on Aug. 26 in
Jimma, Ethiopia. This six-year long, CIDA-funded project
is being implemented by NSAC, McGill University and Jimma
University College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine
(JUCAVM). NSAC is the Canadian lead institution. The
project will focus on reducing post-harvest losses and
value addition of agricultural products. A new Post-Harvest
Management Department, offering B.Sc. and M.Sc. programs,
will be established at JUCAVM. The university’s
laboratory facilities will be improved, and post-harvest
technologies will be developed and demonstrated to farmers
and other stakeholders via demonstration sites and other
