Chartwells Helps Improve Campus Sustainability
As we move towards a more sustainable campus, Chartwells
Food Services and NSAC are pleased to announce that beginning
September 2008 we will be switching disposable packaging
products to biodegradable and/or compostable products in
Chartwells Retail and Catering Services.
For the beginning of the academic year this will include:
•
Hot drink cups
• Plates
• Cutlery
• Soup bowls & lids
• Take-out containers
• Cafeteria napkins
• Catering napkins
Throughout the year other packaging options and products
may be introduced if applicable.
Please join NSAC and Chartwells on the journey towards a
more sustainable future by sorting and disposing of your
food and waste appropriately at the waste stations located
at Cox’s Cupboard and Haley Snack Bar. We will provide
signage to assist you in the sorting process.
For catering orders, the sorting will be done by Chartwells
when clean-up takes place.
If you have any questions regarding this new initiative,
please contact:

Computer Viruses Make Rounds On-Campus
In the past three weeks there has been a severe rash of

do not open any e-mails from senders that you do
not recognize. If e-mails
contain strange attachments, especially ZIP files, do not

Notice Regarding On-Campus Media Inquiries
NSAC is an incredible source of information for the media.
The Public Relations Office is the gateway to that information
and helps the media find information they want while sharing
stories of the many exciting advances, outstanding individuals
and innovative developments that make our university a
premier learning and research institution.
Sometimes members
of the media arrive on campus with little or no
notice. Faculty/staff are asked to contact the Public Relations
Office when television crews and reporters are seen on
the NSAC campus. This will ensure that media will have
access to
the areas, buildings and people necessary to complete
their story. If you have questions about NSAC’s media
relations policy you can review it here.
If you have further questions, please contact the public
relations co-ordinator by e-mail at tmurray@nsac.ca or
by phone at 893-7242.
