Brush teeth with beer rather than tap water--the alcohol kills bacteria. If you
have to drink tap or spring water, use water-purification tablets.

Research at NSAC
Extended Shelf Life:
New Research Hopes to make Naturally Omega-3 Enriched Milk
and Butter Stay Nutritious Longer
The Canada Food Guide recommends eating at least two servings
of fish each week. Seafood is the main source of important
long chain omega-3 fatty acids (LCn-3FA). Consumption of these
fatty acids, namely DHA and EPA (docosahexenoic and eicosapentaenoic
acids, respectively), is related to good cardiovascular health,
reduced development of chronic disease in adults and normal

Recruitment Update
Hello!
I am so pleased to announce that University Day was a huge
success and officially titled " The Best one Ever!".
With close to 200 guests , including grade 11 and 12 students,
teachers, guidance counselors and parents, NSAC sure did
a great job of showing them our finest! At a glance, there
were
over 150 NSAC volunteers, staff and faculty who helped make
the day a great success. From our amazing food service and
catering to elaborate displays, information sessions and
contests, our guests walked away with a great feel for what
NSAC is all
about. I'd like to thank everyone who was involved with University
Day, from planning, volunteering, advertising, presenting,
etc. Again, without campus commitment, we can not achieve
such great results! Student Union and the Ambassador's Club
played
such a key role in the day it made a huge impact on our guests!
THANK YOU!
Here are some of the comments that were heard from parents
and students: " No other university takes the time to
help"; "We were just asked to show up if we wanted
to at (other university), and didn't really think that they
cared one way or the other"; " Are these really all
volunteers? This is amazing!"; " I knew who Monica,
Craig and Ashley were - I just needed to put faces to the names
of the people who I talk to all the time on the phone and in
e-mail" and the best one... "Today changed my mind,
where do I apply?".
As University Day is over for another year, our regular travel
schedule continues. Between trips to the FFA state conventions,
to setting up booths at career fairs, participating in the
Small Farm Expo, the recruitment team is switching gears from
actively recruiting to converting prospects into students.
We'll be making telephone calls and sending e-mails to all
students who are accepted to NSAC for the fall semester.
Please let us know if you are guest speaking or traveling
so that we can send you with NSAC materials.
All the best and thanks again to the Recruitment Committee
for your help!
Monica
