On The Move
Beginning in the new year there are a number of reassignments that will be taking place within Communications Nova Scotia.
First of all, congratulations to our own Natalie Webster who is taking on a new assignment with the Public Service Commission. Natalie will be making the transition through January and I know we will sincerely miss her many talents. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Natalie for everything she has done to contribute to the departments' achievements over the past number of years. I know that her energy and capacity to work will serve her well in her new position. On behalf of everyone in the Departments of Agriculture and Fisheries & Aquaculture, I want to congratulate her on her appointment and wish her every success.
Second, please join me in welcoming Celeste Sulliman as our new Communications Director. Celeste is moving from the Department of Seniors to Agriculture, and Fisheries and Aquaculture and is looking forward to the challenges ahead in her new assignment.

The Changing Reality of Governance in Canada will be the focus of the 8th Annual
Atlantic Conference on the Future of Public Administration being hosted by Master of Public Administration students from Dalhousie School of Public Administration January 30-31, 2008. The conference is expected to draw approximately 200 public servants, academics and students.
The Nova Scotia Regional Group of IPAC is pleased to sponsor Day One of this two-day conference on January 30, 2008, which will consist of a hot breakfast, a keynote address, student paper presentations, a lunch buffet and luncheon address, professional development workshops and a Deputy Ministers panel discussion.
Keynote Speaker: Jeffrey Simpson, Globe and Mail columnist and distinguished author.
Luncheon Speaker: Dr. Herman Bakvis, Professor, School of Public Administration, University of Victoria (former Director, School of Public Administration, Dalhousie University).

RBC Financial Group Scholarships Presented
Two RBC scholarships were awarded at NSAC’s Scholarship Banquet this fall. Merlene Austin, Vice President Agriculture, Atlantic Region, RBC and Stephen Gallant, Branch Manager, RBC Truro, NS, are shown congratulating Alicia Hartman, Kensington, PE, a 1st year B.Sc.(Agr.) Pre Vet student, who received the $1,000 RBC Centennial Entrance Scholarship. Absent at the time of photo was Caitlin Swinkels, Afton, NS, a 1st year B.Sc.(Agr.) student, recipient of the $1,000 RBC Financial Group Entrance Scholarship.
