Recruitment Update
Hello!
Since our last update, we've accomplished several tasks and are looking forward to new ones. Preparations for University Day are complete and campus will get notifications and suggestions for the types of activities and commitment we're looking for. During the past two weeks, we've been in contact with all of our applicants and prospective students to remind them of tours, University Day and Scholarship deadlines. Our next communication will be sent in the form of another post card - which has been well received.
While Craig was in New Brunswick attending the NB Agricultural Alliance conference and meeting with guidance counselors, Brian, Ashley and I set out to meet with more local high school guidance departments, IB, First Nations and African Canadian coordinators and several math teachers. These meetings are designed to educate the influencers of our prospective students. We are almost finished our rounds of local schools - taking us within an hour's drive in each direction. We'd like to thank all of the representatives who have taken our materials and new program information sheets to several events over the past few weeks, including the Aquaculture, Tech -Ed and Plant Science teams. Also, a huge thanks to Jean Lynds who took time to speak to and give a tour of the RAC for our Adult High School students who made their very first class trip to NSAC last Tuesday. This is a group of students who we are closely working with to deliver program options. This week, We'll be meeting with Plant Science to create our display for the International Potato Expo. If anyone else has interest in attending the Expo or would like tickets, please contact me. The Expo dates are February 15th and 16th in Charlottetown.
Finally, please have a look at your Web pages... as University Day nears, we have an increase in traffic and correct and current information is necessary for our prospective students to access.
All the best!
Monica
