Staff Lunch and Learn April 8
On April 8 at 12 p.m. in the Alumni Hall Board Room, Dr. Celina Spence
from Well Within Chiropractic will be presenting a talk on a general
overview (including back health) on chiropractic care. All staff are
welcome - this is free, just bring your lunch!
Scholarship Spotlight
Nova Scotia Institute of Agrologists Scholarships Presented

NSIA annually sponsor two $1,000 scholarships at NSAC. Heather-Anne
Grant, president, NSIA, is shown offering congratulations to
Colin Hirtle, Bridgewater, NS, a fourth year B.Sc.(Agr.) Animal
Science student, recipient
of the $1,000 NSIA 50th Anniversary Scholarship; and Kaitlyn
Kennedy, Antigonish, NS, a third year B.Sc.(Agr.) Agricultural
Business student, the $1,000 NSIA
Scholarship recipient. The NSIA scholarships are awarded to
senior level students with selection criteria based on academic
performance, extra-curricular
activities and interest in the profession of agrology as demonstrated
through career plans.
Agricultural Ecology Class of 2008
Claude Caldwell and Shannon Kilyanek have recently returned
from two weeks teaching at Fujian Agriculture and Forestry
University (FAFU) in Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, P.R. of
China. The Agricultural Ecology
Class of 2008 shown here (Claude upper left, Shannon lower
right) has 131 first year students who are currently enroled
in the FAFU/NSAC 2+2 program.
The course will continue until June 15 by distance education
through WebCT. These students are studying hard to meet both
academic requirements and English proficiency with hopes of
coming to NSAC in the
fall of 2009
to finish their Bachelor of Science degree. Claude also taught
110 students in the second year of the 2+2 program in the Project
Seminar course, some
of these students are currently in the process of applying
to come to NSAC this fall.
