NSAC Employees Honoured- Embracing
Their World
Today's honouree is Mike Pauley, NSAC Web Specialist.
Nominated
by Stephanie Rogers, Mike is a calming influence in an often
very hectic office. No project is too big or too small for Mike
to tackle and he does so with a positive attitude and a smile.
Mike will always drop whatever he is doing to help, whether
it be with an internet or technology problem or anything else
- and never complains.
He is always trying to find simpler solutions to our current
methods of doing things and researching new and inexpensive
technologies.
Mike's "can do" attitude is wonderful. Congratulations
Mike!

NSERC Innovation Challenge Awards
The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC)
is offering the Innovation Challenge Award to graduate students
who can identify potential products or services that could be
generated through application of the research results of their
thesis work. There are three awards in this national competition:
one $10,000 main prize and two $5,000 runner-up prizes.
The Innovation Challenge Awards honour students pursuing graduate
studies in the natural sciences, engineering or computer sciences
who have demonstrated an entrepreneurial flair by thinking of
ways to transform their research thesis results into products
and processes that will potentially benefit Canadians. These
awards recognize and reward the power of imagination and innovation
within Canada’s brightest minds.
Complete details are available from the NSERC website (http://www.nserc.gc.ca/innovation).
Note that the website will be updated in early January but the
