Two More Competitions in 2006 for Graduate
Scholarships to Support Students in M.Sc. Program at NSAC
The NSAC Research & Graduate Studies Office is accepting
applications on June 1, 2006 and on September 1, 2006 to the
Graduate Research Training Initiative (GRTI) scholarship program.
Do you know a student wanting to pursue M.Sc. studies at NSAC,
who is a resident of Nova Scotia and has achieved 75 percent
or greater in his/her last two years of undergraduate study?
If so, please investigate the GRTI program.
The goal of the GRTI program is to provide scholarships to
high calibre students who are engaged in a research-based graduate
program at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College (NSAC) and who
are conducting research that will benefit the Nova Scotia’s
agriculture and agri-food industry. This initiative is intended
to ensure a reliable supply of highly-qualified personnel to
meet the future needs of Nova Scotia’s agri-food industry.
The value of the awards is $15,000 per year for up to two years
for full-time students and $7,500 per year for up to two years
for part-time students.
Application guidelines and instructions can be found on the
NSAC web site at http://nsac.ca/research/graduatestudies/scholarship.asp.

Wanted: Tour Guides for Ag Zone
The 4th annual Ag Zone will take place at NSAC on Friday, May
26th and Monday, May 29th. More than 360 students and teachers
from grades four to six will attend each day, learning about
science and agriculture. This event grows in popularity each
year as we only can accommodate half the number of applicants.
Students will travel to six stations across campus throughout
the day learning about the many things offered at NSAC. As part
of this program we need your help as tour guides. Tour guides
are needed to assist teachers in getting their students from
station to station. If you have some time on either of these
days we would appreciate your help. The program runs from 9:30-1:30
but we would need guides from 9:20-12:30. If you are interested
or know of someone who would like to help as a guide please
contact Ruth Grant at 893-6598 or email at grantra@gov.ns.ca
