Update from the Recruitment Team
In addition to University Day planning the Recruitment team
has been busy in a wide range of activities. We are in the process
of updating program brochures and have been working with the
staff involved with the new Diploma in Enterprise Management
program to plan and implement promotion activities for the new
programs. We've been hosting Veterinary Technology applicants
while they are on campus for their orientation and interviews.
A number of prospective students with family members have been
on campus over the last couple weeks for campus tours.
Craig is busy with follow up to his recent recruiting trips
to Bermuda and New England. Nick attended the annual meeting
of the Agricultural Producers Association of New Brunswick.
We had displays set up at the NB and NS Holstein Association
Annual meetings and the NS Ag Awareness Conference.
On Sunday morning this past weekend we hosted 70 grades 9 -
10 students who were attending the NS Intermediate 4H Conference.
Thanks to students — Julie MacDonald, Mila MacLean, Jason
Lewis, Rachel West, Jacqueline Yuill, Shannon Boutilier and
Tori Bartlett, and staff Judy Grant, Jean Lynds, Jason Bouma,
Gary Wallace and A.J. McConkey for helping us provide an NSAC
experience to these prospects.
Upcoming in the recruitment agenda is a trip Monica is making
to Mexico to participate in some education fairs and meet with
agents, and having a display at the International Potato Expo
in Charlottetown.

NSAC Students Speak at Ag Awareness Conference

Several NSAC students participating in a Youth Forum last week
at the provincial Ag Awareness Conference and represented NSAC
well with their presentations.
They received rave reviews — all have careers as lobbyists
waiting for them down the road. The agriculture industry here
in the region will be well served with these ambassadors. Appreciation
is extended to: Seated, left to right: Luke McLellan, Murray
Gillies, Russell Campbell and Jason Van der Linden; and back
row: Shauna Berkvens, Beth Trueman and Virginia Tupper.
