or are just doing something really neat.
If you have an idea for a great story on anything from campus
life, academic achievement, individual achievement, scholarly
activity, student success ..... then simply fill in the online

into potential media releases, newsletter articles and so on.

Promotion of B.Tech program going
strong
Kevin Sibley, Department Head - Engineering has been actively
promoting NSAC's new program B. Tech in Applied Science.
Last Friday, he attended the Nova Scotia Technical Education
Teachers Association annual conference in Bridgewater where
he was guest speaker during which time he introduced the program
and distributed brochures to about 70 teachers.
As well, he attended several of the workshop sessions to be
visible to teachers and to learn more about what they do in
their classrooms. He met all the students in the first year
of the B.Ed. Tech Ed program at Acadia, two of whom are NSAC
grads and they have offered to do testimonials or other promotional
activities for us.
The teachers are very excited about our program, and several
indicated they would like to come visit us to learn more. Professional
upgrading courses or modules was also discussed.
Kevin will be attending the 2006 conference and will be presenting
a workshop on the program.
NSERC Active in Atlantic Canada
It has only been a year, but the Atlantic Regional Office (ARO)
of Science and Engineering Research Canada (NSERC) is already
making a difference in the region.
Officially opened in October 2004, Danielle Ménard,
Director, Development of Regional Offices says the office provides
a closer link with people throughout Atlantic Canada.
Focusing on specific industry sectors, a workshop is being
offered to provide opportunities for matching sector-specific
companies with academic researchers to generate proposals for
NSERC’s university-industry partnerships programs. This
workshop is being provided on an as-needed basis throughout
the region and the content will be customized for each sector.
NSERC’s Atlantic Regional Office welcomes invitations
to present this workshop. To learn more about the workshop or
any NSERC program, or to receive a copy of the office’s
annual report, please contact Administrative Officer, Cécile
LaPlante, at (506) 854-8154.

NSAC Noticeboard Gaining in Popularity
As you may know the old NSAC Noticeboard was replaced two weeks
ago by the self-serve NSAC Noticeboard and Message Forum. More
and more people are signing up to post their own campus messages
and an increasing number of people are reading them. Join the
trend and spread the word.
People wishing to post notices may do so by registering for
an account. The posts are open for everyone on the Internet
to read but only those registered will be able to post messages.
Accounts will be given to anyone with an NSAC e-mail account
who registers. A registration approval process by the board
administers is necessary to prevent unauthorized use and spam.
Posters will also be able to modify and delete their own posts.
This new Noticeboard and Message Forum greatly expands the
possibility for communication within NSAC. We'll make changes
and add categories as we need to based on feedback and requests.
You will find the new NSAC Noticeboard and Message Forum at
http://nsac.ca/forums/ .
Why not set your homepage to that address?
