Plant Sale
The Friends of the Garden are having a perennial
plant sale on June 12th, 9:00 -11:00am.
The sale will be at the Collins building, at the Grounds Maintenance
entrance.
Open House 2005
As most of you know, we are underway
planning our Open House 2005 activities for Thursday, July 29th.
Now is the time to let us know what you're planning in your area
or department! We will be distributing Participation Sheets so you
can share your plans for Open House. The information you provide
will help us promote your demonstration/activities to our visitors
and our community. You can download a pdf of the form right
now. Then send it back via interdepartmental mail or fax to
Sarah Morris, Alumni and Public Relations at Cumming Hall or by
fax at 897-9399. You can also e-mail
the information to us! Whichever way you choose, we'll be happy
to hear your plans!
Homecoming Schedule
The Homecoming Committee is hard at work to develop
a great event for alumni, students, faculty and staff at this year's
Homecoming Weekend, October 15th and 16th. The tentative schedule
can be found at http://www.nsac.ns.ca/alumni/Schedule2004.htm.
A Casino Night and Fun Auction are part of the plans and the popular
College Royal will be on that weekend as well. It promises to be
a great couple of days!

Winners of Children's Poster Contest
Gail McClare would like to announce the winners of
the "Children's Safety on the Job" Poster Contest for
Resources Corporate Service Unit Client Department's Employees'
Children and Grandchildren. There were 27 entries this year which
made it very difficult for the judges, as all of the entries were
well done. Congratulations and thank you to all children and parents
who participated this year. It is important to keep yourself and
the people around you safe at all times. If you see something that
is unsafe you should tell your parents, teachers or other adults.
The judges for this years' contest were: Kim Dort, DEL; Joel Marsman,
PSC; Wendy Casey, Aboriginal Affairs; and Germaine Mombourquette,
Service NS. There were three age categories and the winners are:
5 - 7 years: 1st Prize - Clay Bryden (Son of Barb
Bryden, DEL); 2nd Prize - Dylan Ament (Son of Angela Ament, Resources
CSU); 3rd Prize - Brent Hicks (Son of Dana Hicks, DNR); Honourable
Mention - Jared Elliott (Grandson of Lloyd MacDonald, DNR); Honourable
Mention - Kiersten Richards (Daughter
of Joyce Pitcher, DEL)
8 - 11 years: 1st Prize - Brandon Frotten (Relative, Michelle Dugas,
DNR); 2nd Prize - Rachael MacNeil (Daughter of Anne MacNeil, DNR);
3rd Prize - Callum MacDonald (Grandson of Lloyd MacDonald, DNR);
Honourable Mention - Emma Blair (Daughter of David Blair, DEL);
Honourable Mention - Emily Praught
(Granddaughter of Dan Praught, DEL);
12 - 14 years: 1st Prize - Amanda Wright (Daughter
of Russell MacKinlay, DNR); 2nd Prize - Nicholas Richards (Son of
Joyce Richards, DEL);
