Fall Timetable
The fall timetable has been generated and is located at:
http://www.nsac.ns.ca/reg/course_timetable.htm
We have made numerous changes in response to your feedback to the
draft timetable. Please review this again when you have a chance
to ensure that courses are scheduled as required. As with all other
timetables, we were not always able to accommodate special requests
due to various conflicts. There are also a few outstanding scheduling
issues that we are still working to resolve but which we couldn't
hold up the release of the timetable for. I will be sure to inform
students that they need to recheck the timetable before they register
for classes starting June 14, 2004 with our new Web Registration
Module.
Thanks again for your assistance with this important endeavour
in what will be a very challenging year of transition for our institution.
If you have any questions please contact the Registry Office at
893-6722.
Poetry Train Update
For those who have not been following the travels of the Poetry
Train and our own Deborah Stiles, you should check out the website
at http://www.logonlog.ca/poetrytrain.htm.
Deborah reports that she's had a great time and the poetry was
wonderful. Some of the best are on the website at http://www.logonlog.ca/poems.htm.
There is also a nice notice on the CBC website at http://www.cbc.ca/arts/stories/quickhits180304.

Dean of Internationalization
Announced
It gives me great pleasure to announce the appointment of Dr.
Dian Patterson as NSAC's next Dean, Internationalization.
The committee was faced with a very difficult decision as all of
the candidates were very well qualified. After lengthy discussion
and careful examination of the interview responses and based as
well on the public presentations, a decision was reached to recommend
Dian as the successful candidate. I wish personally to thank all
who applied, for their excellent showings. We have a great cohort
of experienced people and tremendous depth on this campus. Let's
all wish Dian every success and I encourage everyone to lend her
their support. Good luck in your new challenge, Dian.

Halifax Street Closures
The Halifax office of NSDAF has forwarded the following information
for those who may be traveling to the city. Starting on or about
March 29th, 2004 there will be street closures and traffic restrictions
to be expected in the downtown core, specifically Lower Water Street,
Hollis Street, Sackville Street, and Salter Street.
On or about March 29th, 2004 construction of an underground structure
on Lower Water Street in front of Maritime Museum of Atlantic will
cause the closure of Lower Water Street to vehicular traffic between
the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. This closure
will run for a period of approximately 3 weeks, followed by a return
to normal service for 7 weeks after which the closure will again
be in affect for another 2 week period.
Also, starting on or about April 5th, 2004, Hollis Street between
Sackville Street and Morris Street will be restricted to a single
lane of traffic with expected delays for a period of 3 months due
to the construction of a new sewer interceptor. Truck traffic servicing
the south end of Halifax, the Port, etc. are asked to use alternative
truck routes (note HRM BY-LAW No. T-40) and not Hollis or Lower
Water Street for the construction period.
