Mar 1, 2004 --- Week 168
Thanks to Everyone
for a Successful University Day!!
Thank you to everyone who assisted in any way on Friday in helping
show off the spirit of NSAC to the many prospective students and
their families and supporters who were on campus for University
Day. It was gratifying to experience the wholehearted campus support
for this event. It was a strong indication of the commitment all
of us share in promoting NSAC to prospective students and their
families. Despite the poor weather in other areas of the Maritimes,
we had over 100 students take part in the information sessions,
program tours and the EXPO. Many of the guests had visited NSAC
before but over 50 had never before been to our campus. A total
of 41 applications for admission were left at the Registrar's Office.
What a great indicator of the effectiveness of University Day in
influencing student decisions on post-secondary education destinations.
Congratulations to the Recruitment Team
Congratulations to Jenna Tingley for heading up the planning of
this very successful event and to Brian Carruthers and Craig Curley
for helping plan and coordinate University Day 2004 while still
keeping up a very busy program of responding to inquiries and school
visits.
Thanks from the Recruitment Team
There are way too many people to thank for their contributions,
but we'll try. A big thank you goes out to all the NSAC students
who helped make the day possible by touring students, setting up
and tearing down the EXPO, and being around to answer questions.
Another big thanks to Susan Wren and John Kovacs for their terrific
testimonials. Thank you to Dr. Hicks and Mary McPhee for their welcomes,
and to Wayne Paquet, Mary MacSwain of the Royal Bank, and Brian
Crouse for their excellent talks during the information session.
Brian Jones and Leanne French-Munn both put on information sessions
for students and parents respectfully, which were certainly enjoyed
and appreciated. We're grateful for all the efforts by Professors,
Instructors, Staff and Students for their involvement with program
tours and displays at the EXPO. Thank you also to Chartwells for
putting on such a great lunch.
