CIBC Student Entrepreneur of the Year
Congratulations to Jilian Eisnor, who is the last Nova Scotian student to
be in the running for the CIBC Student Entrepreneur of the Year. This is
a national award, recognizing entrepreneurial spirit among Canadian students.
Jil is a student at Acadia University and runs an online graphic design company
iFresh Design Studio. In her work as a Co-op Student at the Centre
for Continuing and Distance Education in 2002, Jil worked with faculty and staff to upgrade
the look of Continuing Education course materials.
Jil will be presenting her business ideas to a panel of judges on Feb 13.
We wish her luck!
News from the Road
For those of you who couldn't’t make it to the meeting, we wanted to
keep you up to date on what is being planned for University Day. Friday
February 27th is shaping up to be a day jam-packed with informative
and interesting sessions for students and their supporters. The following is
a tentative schedule:
10:00 - Registration in Cumming Hall
10:30 - 12:00 - Welcomes in Alumni Theatre. Student testimonials, Information
session (application process, scholarships, student loans), University 101
- Transition to University to follow
12:00 - Lunch
12:45 - Program tours
1:30-3:30 - Information EXPO
3:00 - Campus Tours
An on-line registration form will be available on our website at www.nsac.ns.ca/choosingnsac/universityday to help students register more quickly and easily. We expect that between 800
and 1000 students will receive personal invitations either through the mail
or by email. Many more students will be reached through guidance services in
their high schools. So if you know of someone who may be interested in attending,
help us by passing along this information, or ask the student to get in touch
with us.
Thanks to all of you who have already contacted us about your interest in
helping out. Recruitment is done by everyone on campus, and an event like University
Day really allows everyone to get involved in showing off what a great university
we have. So if you haven’t touched base with us about University Day,
it’s not too late to get involved! Remember, we can’t do it without
your support!

has been posted to the alumni website. Those alumni that can't
attend the forum are invited to submit written comments to the
Association using the web response form or by regular mail. See

MIB (Men in Black) make Winter Carnival appearance
The "Men in Black" were just one of the many acts that made up the entertainment
at the NSAC Winter Carnival variety show last friday evening. Protecting your
back from Aliens is just one of the jobs of the MIB. A good time was had by
all. Click the photo for a larger view.

E-bulletin a great way to advertise a campus event
This is just a reminder that the NSAC E-bulletin is a great way to advertise
a campus event, report on an important happening or show off a significant
achievement. It is mailed out every monday, usually by noon and our statistics
show that by 5:00 pm that day it has been read by about 200 people. Unlike
other direct broadcast e-mail announcements, e-bulletins are kept in the archive
and can
be viewed again at a later date and many people do go back over them.
Just send the information, along with any pictures, to Jim
Goit for inclusion in the E-bulletin. It's your e-newsletter for NSAC.
