NSAC Golf Tournament a Resounding
Success
Three cheers for the home team! NSAC athletes smashed the competition
at the 8th annual Agri-Golf Classic. Teams battled out on the beautiful
Eagles Glenn Golf Course in scenic Cavendish, PEI. The course was
challenging and the sky was bright as teams embarked to take their
swings. Doing our home team proud was Don Sutherland's team of Don,
Wayne Bhola, Ted MacFayden,
Paul Jenkins and Ryan Butcher, as they took the overall win! Other
winning event efforts include:
Top Farm Team: Maritime Pride Poultry (Scott Barkhouse,
Chuck Reid, Chris Sweeney, Andrew Newcombe, and Chris Barkhouse)
Top Business Team: Novartis Vets (Mark Smith, Angus Smith,
Jamie Kelly, Jim Miller, Peter Foley)
Top Alumni Team: Rogers Alums (Alex Rogers, Steve Watts,
Doug LeClair, Arnold Hagen, Kyle Murray)
Closest to the Hole: #6 - Jamie Kelly; #11 John McCabe
Longest Drive: Women - Joanne Coleman (Novartis Aqua Health)

Fishy Open House Contest
Nicole Armstrong was the winner of the NSAC sweatshirt for the
guess-the-number-of-fish contest at the Aquaculture Centre during
Open House. Her guess of 183 was only one fish off the actual number
of 182. About 200 tickets were filled out before 12:30 and organizers
say they had about 350 entries in total.

Open House 2004 Rocked!
Thanks to everyone who took the time to make this year's event
so fantastic! We are still pulling together information to evaluate
this year's event and the committee will be meeting shortly for
a post-event discussion so we can continue to improve the event
next year. By all accounts, though, the event was incredibly successful.
And our experiment of having the event on Thursday seems to have
worked nicely. Our recruitment team was busy answering questions
for prospective students and their parents, the farm was busy as
usual, the farm market at Cox was a big draw and our staff seemed
to have a great time too! Look for a more in-depth report after
the Open House Committee post-event meeting! In the meantime, if
you have any suggestions (or positive feedback too), the committee
would love to hear it!
