December
9 2002 - Week 113
News from the Road
The Fall recruitment season is winding down, with this being
the last traveling week before Christmas. As such, the recruitment
team is busy visiting high schools and welcoming students to campus.
Dara spent last week in the Annapolis Valley and Jenna recently
returned from Metro Halifax. Brian is spending this week visiting
high schools in Pictou County.
Several individual and group tours made their way to campus recently.
The Springhill Oceans class spent a morning at NSAC, touring campus
and visiting the aquaculture facility. A teacher from Bathurst High
School accompanied a group of Grade 11 and 12 students, who spent
the day visiting campus and talking with NSAC students. This week
Brookfield Junior High School students experienced a number of areas
on campus, including the aquaculture unit, the greenhouses and the
RAC, as well as having the opportunity to learn about organic agriculture
during a mini-lecture.
We'd like to give a Tip of the Hat' to a number of NSAC people,
including Paul MacIsaac for making presentations to four New Brunswick
high school classes this week. We'd also like to thank those who
helped out with recent tours, including Mary McPhee, Amy MacLean,
Gary Wallace, Dr. Hammermeister and Prof. Mapplebeck. Thanks everyone!

Development and Alumni Relations Update
The Development and Alumni Relations Office team has been completing
a monthly report for Executive for some time. In an effort to make
people across campus aware of our activities, we will be posting
the summary on our website site. A notice and link will be put into
the E-bulletin when a new one is available. The November report
is online at http://www.nsac.ns.ca/development/section_reports/2002/nov.htm
If you have any questions or suggestions please contact Jim at 893-7950
or JGoit@nsac.ns.ca
December Post
The December issue of the NSAC Post in now available online at the
following link: http://www.nsac.ns.ca/news/ac_post/2002/_Post,_Dec,2002.pdf

the newsletter, the December issue of the Post will only be sent
electronically to campus staff. Those off-campus will continue to
receive a hard copy. If you have concerns with this, please let
Stephanie know at srogers@nsac.ns.ca
NSAC 100, Centennial Planning Committee
With the year 2002 drawing to a close, we are reminded that we are
only three years away from a major milestone. The time will pass
all too quickly! The Development Office has the task of coordinating
and organizing events leading up to NSAC's Centennial. I'm looking
for people interested in working on a planning committee to move
things forward. I'm hoping to have a small group of individuals
to coordinate things over the next two years enlisting others for
events and activities as they come up. So, if you have ideas and
would like to help, give me a call or drop me an e-mail. Let's make
the centennial a memorably event. Jim Goit

Legion Stadium. For more information please contact Judy Smith at
