NSAC Alumni Association to Host Silent
Auction
The NSAC will play host to approximately 100 alumni and their spouses
on the weekend of October 18 and 19 for annual Homecoming celebrations.
A highlight of the weekend's activities will be the Silent Auction
in support of the Student Emergency Fund. A sample list of items
up for bid can be viewed at the following link. Staff and students
alike are encouraged to join us at this event on Saturday beginning
at 8:30 p.m in Cumming Hall. Refreshments and cash bar available.

Student Recruitment Update
This is another busy week for the Student Recruitment team. Jenna
Tingley is continuing with her trip through Ontario and this week
visits schools in southwestern Ontario in Gray, Bruce and Huron
counties. Last week she was part of a bus tour along with representatives
of other Maritime universities that took in school visits from Toronto
to Oshawa, Mississauga, Ajax, Aurora, Oakville, Cambridge, Kitchener,
Burlington,
Hamilton and Brampton.
Dara Pelkey is in rural Cape Breton and Antigonish/Guysborough
this week after spending last week in Fredericton and western New
Brunswick. Brian Carruthers is visiting PEI schools this week. Brian
had a busy weekend last week promoting NSAC at the Nova Scotia 4-H
Show in Windsor, NS.
This week's Student Recruitment "Tip of the Hat" goes
out to -
Alumni Rosalind Pound and Krista Bradley for promoting
the College and handing out NSAC materials at a career fair held
at Memorial University last Monday. They were there representing
careers with the Newfoundland Dept. of Agrifoods.
Students, Andrew Taylor for wearing his NSAC jacket and
Jennifer Chestnut and Diana Murphy for wearing their
NSAC sweatshirts at the NS Provincial 4-H Show in Windsor last weekend.
Ian Dionne, who works for the Town of Truro's Engineering
Office for helping staff the NSAC display at the 4-H Show.
And to all the alumni who wore "I'm an AC grad" stickers
(including the Dairy Judge Bloyce Thompson right in the show
ring) at the 4-H Show.
Volunteers Needs
Staff and students are needed to assist with Autumn Assembly. If
you would like to help with the phototaking of scholarship winners,
handing out and receiving gowns, ushering and handing out programs
at the event Wednesday evening, October 23, please contact Sandra
Murphy at the Career Services and Awards Office, at 893-7900, email

Food for Thought! -- Learn More About

The Atlantic Agricultural Science and Technology Workshop on November
14-15 includes sessions on Food Quality and Safety. Don' t miss
