NSAC Woodsmen have their eye on the prize!
NSAC woodsmen hope to successfully complete the season undefeated and capture the Canadian Intercollegiate Lumberjack Association (CILA) championship when they host the 27th annual Rick Russell Woodsmen competition this weekend.
On Saturday, February 11th, both men and women will see action beginning at 8:00 a.m. at the MacMillan Show Centre, Bible Hill, when they put their skills to the test against 17 teams from across Canada and the Northern United States.
“The teams have been working very hard this year and it is paying off," said Julie Vermeer, Woodsmen Competition Chair
. "We have never had as good of a season as this and we are hoping that we will be able to pull the four for four off for both the men and the women resulting in two CILA titles. We are really excited to finish off the season at home and look forward to showing everyone what we can do!"
The competition, which runs until 5:00 p.m. will showcase such events as sawing, chopping, axe throwing, water boil and more. Tickets will be on sale for your chance to win a Stihl 260 chainsaw.
