Canadian Agricultural Safety Week launched at NSAC
March 13 – 19, 2011
Canadian Agricultural Safety Week will officially launch year two of Canada’s agriculture safety campaign “Plan • Farm • Safety” on March 11th, 10 a.m., at NSAC, Riverview Room, Jenkins Hall. For 2011, the focus will be on “Farm”, highlighting implementation of safety procedures to manage the risk and control the hazard.
The launch is being held in partnership with leading provincial farm safety advocates including the Nova Scotia Federation of Agriculture, Society of Farm Safety Nova Scotia and NSAC.
“Working together for the common goal of health and safety in agriculture is a key role in the development and support of farm safety in Nova Scotia,” says Marcel Hacault, CASA Executive Director.
“Nova Scotia’s agricultural industry is diverse, vibrant and vital to our economy, environment and quality of life,” said Beth Densmore, president of the Nova Scotia Federation of Agriculture, a member organization of the Canadian Federation of Agriculture. “Farm safety is an important part of successful farming. It’s in our best interest for the people, products and future of agriculture.”
The Canadian Federation of Agriculture (CFA) and Canadian Agricultural Safety Association (CASA) deliver CASW in partnership with Farm Credit Canada (FCC) and Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.
