NSAC Basketball player Rhonda Kennedy was selected as an Atlantic Colleges Athletic Asociation (ACAA) All-Conference member this past weekend at the 2011 ACAA All-Conference Awards Banquet held at Mount Saint Vincent University. Rhonda also led the league in scoring with an average of 20.6 points per game.
In addition, Rhonda was chosen as the recipient of the Rod Shoveller Award. This award is designed to recognize a senior basketball player from either the men's or women's division of the ACAA, who shows great basketball talent, sportsmanship, leadership and community involvement.
"Rhonda has been a great addition to NSAC's Women's Basketball Program," said NSAC Athletics Director Judy Smith. "She motivates and leads the team by example, she is highly skilled and her play and attitude have made the team better," she added. "I was very pleased Rhonda was selected for the Rod Shoveller Award as she is a perfect example of the player this award is designed for."
