NSAC Grad Student wins First Prize at National Conference

NSAC M.Sc. student, Jeff Nimmo recently won first prize for
his oral presentation on "Nutrient Flows on Maritime Dairy
Farms" at the national joint conference of the Canadian
Society of Soil Science (CSSS) and Canadian Society of Agronomy
(CSA). Jeff was presented with a $900 cash prize sponsored
by CSA.
The conference titled "Transfers and Transformations:
Our Evolving Biosphere" was held at the University of
Saskatchewan, Saskatoon from June 20-24, 2010. Jeff's research
is supervised by Dr. Derek Lynch, NSAC Canada Research Chair
in Organic Agriculture. Other project committee members include
Dr. David Burton (NSAC), Dr. Bernie Zebarth (AAFC)and Josee
Owen (AAFC).
