NSAC presents
Solar Home Design Course
Bible Hill—This time of year everyone is anxious to feel
the warmth of the sun after a long, dark winter. But have you
ever thought of harnessing that same warmth from the sun in
your own home?
NSAC in conjunction with Solar Nova Scotia is offering a practical,
how-to course on designing and building solar shelter, including
greenhouses, solaria, additions and especially solar homes.
This two-day course, April 10 and 11, is intended for the general
public and those in design and construction and will be led
by one of Canada’s most experienced solar designer-builders,
Don Roscoe.
“We are very excited about having such an accomplished
Nova Scotia solar advocate and home builder deliver this course
at the NSAC Engineering Department. The understanding and application
of solar technology has never been more relevant as we look
into major changes in the energy sector,” said Peter
Havard, Head of the Department of Engineering.
The amount of energy the sun sends towards the planet is 35,000
times more than what is currently produced and consumed. This
clean, renewable, energy resource is a great way to “go
green” and with increased use of solar energy, energy
security is built, greenhouse gas emissions reduced and the
planet moves toward a sustainable energy future.
Each minute enough sunlight reaches the Earth’s surface
to meet the world’s energy demand for an entire year.
Why not find out how you can tap into this abundant resource
by attending the Solar Design Course at NSAC April 10 and 11th,
2010
