Bible Hill— Environmental Sciences student and NSAC Athlete
of the Year Kelsey Harpman has been named an Academic All Canadian
by the Sport Information Resource Centre (SIRC) and the Canadian
Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA).
The SIRC-CCAA Academic All Canadian Award is the CCAA’s
most prestigious student-athlete award, epitomizing its mandate
of recognizing excellence in academics and athletics. To achieve
this award, a student-athlete must be named to an All-Star
team in a CCAA Sport and must achieve honours standing at their
Institution.
“Kelsey has been an outstanding student-athlete for NSAC.
She played and excelled at rugby and basketball, finishing
her
four year career with four all-conference rugby awards and
this year added the all-conference recognition for basketball
as well,” said NSAC Athletic Director Judy Smith. “She
is a skilled athlete and a tough competitor, leading and supporting
her teammates on the field and off. There is no better representative
for NSAC and Athletics than Kelsey Harpman."
Kelsey is from Beaver Brook, Nova Scotia and will be graduating
with her Bachelor of Science degree during Convocation ceremonies
Friday, May 7th, 2010.
