NSAC Graduate Research Day highlights innovative work of upcoming
leaders in agriculture, agri-food and environment.
Nova Scotia Agricultural College graduate
students will have a chance to showcase the valuable work they
are doing on behalf of the environment and the agri-food industry
at the 11th Annual Graduate Research Day, Friday, April 9th,
2010. The event, which promotes current graduate student research,
gives students an opportunity to inform and interact with the
NSAC community, industry and general public about their exciting,
innovative research.
Nineteen graduate students will present their research during
oral and poster presentations on such topics as the effects
of biofertilizers and organic soil amendments on plant growth,
reducing early poultry mortality and nutrient flows on maritime
dairy farms.
Graduate Research Day runs from 10 am to 4 pm in Cumming Hall
beginning with greetings from Heather Hughes, Manager of Graduate
Studies followed by presentations throughout the day.
NSAC Graduate Research Day began in 2000 as part of the NSAC
Graduate Communications Skills and Seminar Methods class. The
day is sponsored by the NSAC Association of Graduate Students,
Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council and NSAC
