Judy Smith, Dean of Student Services and Athletic Director

Reporting to the President, the Dean of Student Services and Director of Athletics is responsible for non-academic programs and services for students. Working with managers in all divisions within the student services department, she oversees the operation of tutoring and academic learning clinics, services for students with learning challenges, health services, career services and recruitment, residence and conference and is directly responsible for the operation of the Athletic Department and the Langille Athletic Centre.

As a member of the NSAC Senior Management Team, she ensures that students and student life are foremost in discussions leading to institutional decisions.
The Dean also works closely with student groups and particularly with Student Union in the delivery of services and opportunities for students, including Orientation for First Year Students and Families. She also is a member of various campus committees such as Enrollment Management, Bookstore Advisory, Worksafe OH & S, Student Awards, Homecoming and Open House.
The Dean represents NSAC in the Atlantic Association for University and College Student Services and the Atlantic Colleges Athletic Association.
