Note: As of September 2011, RefWorks 2.0 is the default page for NSAC users. Users can switch to the original Classic interface by clicking on "Login using RefWorks Classic" link above the login box. Please note that NSAC that the Classics interface is expected only to be available until December 2011.

What is RefWorks?
RefWorks is a web-based bibliography and database manager
that allows you to createyour own personal database by importing
references from text files or online databases and other
various sources.
You can use these references in writing papers and automatically
format the paper
and the bibliography in seconds.
RefWorks helps you to:
- Organize your research
- Include citations while you write your paper
- Build a bibliography in dozens of styles
- Import references from many data sources or add them
manually
- Create bibliographies in different document formats
(Word, RTF, HTML, etc.)
How do I access RefWorks?
Sign up for an individual account by clicking on the RefWorks
icon. If you are using Refworks from off campus, you'll
need NSAC's group code which is rwnsac
Off-campus users will be asked for NSAC's Group Code when
you create your account, and each time you login to your
account from off-campus.
You will receive a confirmation email from RefWorks when
you create your account.
What is Write-N-Cite?
Write-N-Cite is a utility that allows users to run an abbreviated
version of RefWorks in their word processor. This version
of RefWorks displays Author, Title, and Year Only, with
a full view option available if needed.
With Write-N-Cite, you can cite references in a manuscript
with just a click of a button. Write-N-Cite for Windows
III also allows you to work on a paper and format a bibliography
offline.
How to get Write-N-Cite
- Intall Write-N-Cite on your computer under the RefWorks
Tools tab. You have to install it on every computer that
you want to use with Microsoft Word.
- When you use Microsoft Word, you'll see a Write-N-Cite
button, or check under Tools or on your desktop.
Where can I find instructions on how to export records
from different databases?
The Refworks Help section has instructions on how to import
records from different database vendors. The instructions
include how to do a direct export to Refworks, or manually
save and export records. Click here to go to the RefWorks
