For NSAC Students: Study/Work Abroad
The global economy demands global competencies. Research proves employers prefer candidates with international study or work experience. The opportunity to learn a new language and culture and to expand your world view also has many academic and personal benefits.
NSAC is committed to being a leader in global food security. Opportunities are available for students to participate in this process by enhancing their global knowledge base and professional skill set. Students can participate in a variety of ways through student exchanges that range from one week, one semester or one full academic year.
Where to start
Before considering study or work abroad students should define their goals and research the opportunities available. It is also beneficial to ask for advice from professors and also meet with their academic advisor. Advisors can help students determine how they can best incorporate studying abroad into a long term study plan. Students also have to maintain good grades as many of these opportunities require a minimum level of academic standing.
Another essential step is to meet with staff at NSAC International. We can also help identify the opportunities available and help students determine what works best for them. We can help also guide students though the process of preparing to travel and learning a new culture.
Ask any student who has traveled abroad and you will hear statements such as “best experience of my life”, “I learned so much”, “I discovered how much I can really do”, “I had a great time”, “I made so many new friends”. The ability to graduate with an additional competitive edge truly does add value to a university experience.
