NSAC, the lead in this project, partnered with the Nova
Scotia Department of Agriculture and Marketing and the
Wild Blueberry Producers of Nova Scotia, Estonian
partners included the Ministry of Agriculture, the
Estonian Agricultural University and the wild berry
producers. The purpose of the project was to assist the
Estonian wild berry industry with management, marketing,
extension support and the provision of plant material.
The project assisted in building capacity to develop
viable commercial wild berry farming in southwest
Estonia. Throughout the project, berry producers,
extension experts, and marketing officers were trained
in the areas of plant selection, breeding, disease
control, propagation techniques, and promotion and
marketing of berry products.
