J. Watson Maxner
Nova Scotia
Throughout a busy and active career which covered a wide spectrum of
activity, Watson Maxner demonstrated over and over again that he was a
man amongst men, and a leader who gave the best of his talents to every
enterprise he undertook.
A hustling, bustling person, Mr. Maxner was a talented organizer and
an administrator possessing confidence in his own ability to see the job
at hand through to finality, and the capacity to do the job well.
His record of achievement on his own Kings Meadow Farm where he maintained
a fine herd of Guernsey cattle, as Secretary-Manager of the Hants County
Exhibition and the Atlantic Winter Fair, as Secretary of Twin Cities Co-operative
Dairy, Secretary of the Nova Scotia Guernsey Breeders Association, Secretary
of the Milk and Cream Producers, as an executive member of the Canadian
Legion, as Clerk of Session of his church, and in countless other positions
in which he served so willingly and so competently is such that it forms
a bench mark from which others, over the years, so often have taken direction.
