J. Watson Maxner

Throughout a busy and active career which covered a wide spectrum of activity, Watson Maxner demonstrated over and over again that he was a man amongst men, and a leader who gave the best of his talents to every enterprise he undertook.

A hustling, bustling person, Mr. Maxner was a talented organizer and an administrator possessing confidence in his own ability to see the job at hand through to finality, and the capacity to do the job well.

His record of achievement on his own Kings Meadow Farm where he maintained a fine herd of Guernsey cattle, as Secretary-Manager of the Hants County Exhibition and the Atlantic Winter Fair, as Secretary of Twin Cities Co-operative Dairy, Secretary of the Nova Scotia Guernsey Breeders Association, Secretary of the Milk and Cream Producers, as an executive member of the Canadian Legion, as Clerk of Session of his church, and in countless other positions in which he served so willingly and so competently is such that it forms a bench mark from which others, over the years, so often have taken direction.
