Lorne Logan

Nova Scotia

As a livestock showman, the late Lorne Logan had no peers on this continent and no equals. In fact, in many quarters where livestock showmen and stockmen gather, this native Nova Scotian is acknowledged and remembered not only as s greatest showman but, also, as the man who taught Canadian and American exhibitors how to show cattle. Their number is legion.

In no quarter is this more recognized nor more willingly acknowledged from coast to coast than in Holstein circles in which so many of the showmen developed and trained by Mr. Logan have made their mark, and are to be found.

His record as a herdsman and farm manager are equally as impressive for during his long and active career, Mr. Logan developed and managed some of the leading Holstein herds in Canada - herds which swept the board at over 40 of the leading livestock expositions on this continent, and which compiled enviable records of production in the bargain. His record whilst at Lonsdale Farm is a classic example of his ability in this direction.

Mr. Logan was one of those rare individuals who was always ready and willing to share his knowledge and his herd "know-how" with any and all who exhibited a love for livestock and a willingness to learn.

Few men are there who become legends in their own tine; Lorne Logan was one of these.
